Is Jason Voorhees A Zombie?

While listening to sundry podcasts and trawling various forums I came across an unexpected kerfuffle over whether or not Jason Voorhees is a zombie.  Jason a zombie? I have to admit, the notion of labeling Jason a zombie had never occurred to me.  Coming across people investing time on the subject was something of a surprise.  Jason Voorhees is clearly not a zombie.

Let the Right One In

Vampires Don't Sparkle

Pre-ramble:

If  Twilight is a teen romance featuring vampires aimed at teens, it could be argued that Let the Right One In is a vampirey teen romance for grown ups.  I don’t know that I’d go that far.  Calling  Let the Right One In a romance is a little superficial.  The characters and the story are too complicated and layered for that.  This is a dark and violent vampire movie for grown ups.

Supernatural forces are follow Miah on Twitter

Pre-ramble:

Katie and Micah have a problem.  There are things in their suburban San Diego tract home that go bump in the night.  Micah decides to get himself an expensive “pro-sumer” video camera to see if he can catch the source of the disturbances on video.  The entire movie is told from the point of view of Micah’s shiny new camera.  This where the fun begins.

The movie begins as a pot of banality that is slowly brought to a raging boil of horror  from which we take the hard boiled eggs of terror.  Later, we’ll make the deviled eggs of. . . erm. . . the devil?   This analogy broke down faster than my old Pontiac 6000.

Brotherhood of the Wolf

Pre-ramble:

There is a beast running about rural 18th Century France and it is eating the peasants, something about which the peasants are not too terribly pleased.  So, hearing the cries of his subjects, the King sends Inspector Clouseau and his faithful side-kick Cato.  No, wait, that’s not right. The French King sends his most fearsome Naturalist.  Naturalist?  Yeah! Anyway, the King’s Naturist, Mr. Grégoire de Fronsac, heads out to the hinterland with his faithful Mohawk side-kick Mani to investigate the mystery.
